Where to find Cucumber?

We are super excited to share that we will now be available at both the brand new and utterly lovely spa at Beaverbrook Hotel in Sussex

1

as well as the very gorgeous spa at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hampshire, where we were part of their fairytale pretty Festive Fair yesterday.

2

They are both extraordinarily beautiful places to eat, stay and play - we suggest you check them both out in 2019 as a delicious treat.

Lions Tigers and Bears

We have also just started working with the wonderful new site, Lions, Tigers and Bears. Started by Emma Kennedy who after her breast cancer diagnosis decided that 'when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping'. She has curated a website with everything you might need to help with treatment and beyond - and help people discovering a 'new normal'.

CUCUMBER IN THE NEWS!

The gorgeous Annabel and Grace from big-hitting site Country Wives decided to make Eileen their Woman of the Week. Asked about her inspirations, wild swimming and Cucumber (of course!) read on to find out more....

Cucumber's Podcasting Again!

Coming out this month you can hear us chatting with journalist Josella Waldron, with her new podcast for women about work, life and family. Josella talks to strong, smart, intelligent working women about having a fulfilling career and dealing with the challenges of modern family life. Can we do it all? The podcast will be up later this month and you can click here to find out.

And if you missed our first ever podcast with the fab Amanda Thebe, you can click here to listen in.

Real Women Shoot

It started early morning with the talented photographer, Alexa Bailey and her lights and camera arriving, followed closely by super entrepreneur Grace Fodor founder of Studio 10 make up and her assistant Felicity (make up throughout by Studio 10). All the clothes were hung out in rows, ready and waiting. Make up magician Louise Constad was next, then MUAH (make up and hair) Phoebe and last and most crucially, Sally our producer for the day.

First up, gorgeous Millie Clode @school_gate_style with her neat 4 month bump appeared,

swiftly followed by Petra of @menopause_yoga who mixed it up with her own work gear

then Kate @houseofcolours with her silver trainers - perfect with the cashmere dress

the fantastic Liz Heffernan was up next, we loved her natural flair in front of the camera

and finally the beautiful designer Jade @JillGayle who styled up our strappy moss top with her own gorgeous silk velvet flare trousers. We all want a pair....

It was a full house along with Jarvis the cokerpoo and the delicious Min, Louise's toy poodle who travels everywhere with her. Models were sent to hair and make up and then tried on a series of outfits. Lighting and props were arranged and once the shooting started, it was non-stop until late afternoon with only a short break for a delicious lunch and endless cups of tea. The results are out, you will see them on our site and socials over the next year. We loved the way each model styled up Cucumber in their own way and that we had models from every decade from their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s - all looking absolutely on point and beautiful.

We hope to run this again, and maybe next time it will be you!

Our December Social Star

Every month we highlight a new social media inspiration.

Our December pinup is the fabulous Kate Moss-Jones @thepersonalstylistx. You will recognise her as one of the stylish models from our 'real women' shoot. We loved her look and her dress-it-up/dress-it-down easy glamour. No surprises there since Kate is a colour and style consultant - and one who LOVES Cucumber!

Cucumber Around the World
We like to think that Cucumber is just about everywhere! We've had enquiries, orders and pics from every corner of the globe.

As a non-stop traveller Sarah has fallen in love with Cucumber, after all, if you're travelling just with a knapsack, multifunctionality is key!

If you'd like to be included in our monthly newsletter roundup, drop us a line with your photo and details and you could be in our next newsletter.

read this Maybe a bit of a heavy tome for end of year reading, but with the world seemingly upside down, Why the West Rules (for now) by Ian Morris makes for a deeply interesting read. East/West where do our differences begin and end? Save to dip into with a mince pie and piping hot cup of tea next to the fire (a warm radiator will do just fine).

do this It's Christmas, and Cucumber does love a carol or two and where better to let our lungs open up than at St. Paul's? Every year, their free carol concert attracts luminaries such as Joanna Lumley and Vanessa Redgrave to do the readings. Cucumber has been lucky enought to be there a few times, and has left in a properly Christmas mood. It's not too late to nab a return on eventbrite.
