Hip hip hooray! it's our Twonniversary on the 7th of September! We can hardly believe it has been two whole years since we launched Cucumber Clothing. We've met so many gorgeous people along the way ( and so many of them are you, our amazing and wonderful customers who write, email and call us to tell us how much you love our products). We have learned so much ( I may never be a proper coder and Nancy may never be an accountant, but we're getting better....) and we are pretty proud of how far we have come from that very first collection.
Most importantly, we'd like you to help us celebrate!
We'll be -
running a Spin the Wheel competition on our site for one week starting from the 7th. You can win everything from discounts to free stuff!
asking you to send us a pic of how you wear your Cucumber clothes to info@cucumberclothing.com . We'll be picking a lucky winner for lunch with us, the Cucumber founders, at The Allbright Club in Mayfair, London and a chance to have us style you up in Cucumber with a 25% discount on anything you buy!
and to reward you for telling all your friends about how much you love Cucumber, we will be starting a 'tell a friend' reward programme, where you can both get money off your next purchase. Everything to like!
Mostly, we want to say a huge thank you to all of you. Without our wonderful customers, Cucumber Clothing wouldn't be here. We love you.
Now, put your seatbelts on and travel back in in time with us with our Cucumber time capsule. to revisit some of the many highlights on our rollercoaster ride.
First up, our Cucumber collection launch at Grace Belgravia - September 2017- we were so nervous!
Two days later, the marvellous Lisa Armstrong, Fashion Director at the Daily Telegraph, writes all about us. We're on the map and orders start flooding in from around the world.
We're in You magazine, vlogging with Fighting Fifty and starting publishing our very first blog.
Our best selling harems hit our site, closely followed by our beautiful 'feels like silk' ruffle collection which debuted at the then brand new Allbright Club for working women. Social media including bloggers like Esther Coren love it and we find ourselves all over instagram.
It's May 2018 and it's our first pop-up in a collaboration with cool girl brand Soda.shop ( in Selfridges, Neiman-Marcus and anywhere cool). Perfect weather for cool clothes and lifestyle gadgets. (We also set ourselves the goal of going plastic-free in manufacturing chain which we achieved two years early, this spring!)
It was a long, hot summer and Cucumber was everywhere including on BBC London with Jo Good, in the Times with Anna Murphy, the Daily Mail in their 'lightbulb moment' and top tips for the heat, in Victoria Health, and at Feastival. We love it when the heat is on!.
Autumn 2018 and we debut our cashmere mix collection (with bestseller jumpsuits flying off the shelves) with 50p from every cashmere collection piece going to The Eve Appeal (here's our vlog with CEO Athena Lamnisos). We also introduce more classic jersey pieces including our gorgeous ballet top and can't-live-without-it multi-tasking strappy top.
In the run up to Christmas we get an amazing response for our Real Women shoot and have a grand day with women in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s having them style Cucumber up their way. We love the result, and social media does too.
We also hold a Christmas pop-up, carry on podcasting and are delighted to be carried in the gorgeous spas at Beaverbrook and Four Seasons Hampshire (check them both out - they are fabulous places for a break.)
Finally, our double page feature in Woman and Home on 'friends-come-business partners' with us styled up to the nines in sequins and velvets comes out. Yikes!
We start 2019 with a bang. Claudia Winkleman gives us a shout out in her colum in the Sunday Times Style Magazine as her number one go-to yoga brand.
It's spring, and our new shell button pj collection comes out alongside our new look website. We get a great response (thanks to all who wrote in!) and a lovely blog piece on us by Fabulous Fabsters.
We're podcasting again with silver style inspo Rachel Peru, Out of the Bubble and have a full feature on us in glorious Goldie Magazine.
We take part in the #fashionrevolution campaign that highlights #whomadeyourclothes. This elicits a fantastic response and we love being able to showcase the great women and men who actual make Cucumber clothes for us to wear.
We give a talk for Tablecrowd for aspiring entrepreneurs on how to stand out of the crowd.
Potato starch bags rule - we eliminate the last piece of plastic in our chain.
Our newest collection with our newest 37.5 technology fabric is launched. More sustainable than every (with 50% made from renewable, carbon neutral beechwood forests), our 37.5 technology jersey is perfect for the summer ahead - rain or shine!
We're hanging at The Grove Hotel spa, running a fantastic day long pop-up alongside the wonderful spa staff. Watch out for us here again soon.
Summertime and plenty more press for Cucumber, including a lovely piece by Lisa Armstrong, on 'the Case for a Carry-On' and Cucumber makes the cut!
What next? Look out for Cucumber in the Four Seasons Park Lane, a spanking new Christmas capsule collection and a ton more press, as well as more inspirational vlogs and Q & As with a host of inspiring, interesting women of all ages and backgrounds.
And remember, we love to hear from you. So if you have any suggestions for vlogs or blogs, books, festivals, recipes or anything else, always drop us a line at info@cucumberclothing.com We will always get back to you.
